A realistic honeymoon planning timeline

When to book what, from twelve months out to the week before you fly.
Honeymoons get planned last and suffer for it. Here is the timeline we work to.
Twelve months out. Decide the type of trip: beach, safari, city, or a combination. Set the budget honestly, including spending money.
Nine months. Book long-haul flights and the anchor property. Peak-season overwater villas and top safari camps genuinely do sell out this far ahead.
Six months. Vaccinations, visas, and any diving or trekking certification.
Three months. Restaurants, excursions, spa treatments. Tell every property it is your honeymoon — upgrades and amenities follow.
One month. Travel insurance check, currency, and a printed backup of every confirmation.
