How to build a multi-centre trip that does not exhaust you

By Amelia Hart · 29 June 2026 · 6 min read

Three bases, not five. And never move on the day you arrive somewhere new.

The most common mistake in multi-centre travel is fitting in one destination too many.

Three nights minimum per base. Two nights means one full day, and you spend it recovering.

Group by geography, not wish list. Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Krabi flow. Bangkok, Bali and Singapore is three long transfers.

Build in a soft day. One day with nothing booked, halfway through. It is always the day people remember.

Use one luggage strategy throughout. Forward the big bags, travel between bases with an overnight case.
